OS File Manager Errors (-124 -> -33)  


 

 

The following table lists codes returned by the Operating System File Manager. These codes can be returned when you are using, for example, the System Documents commands (see chapter System Documents). In this list, the word “file” indicates a document on disk and not a file in your database structure.

-124Tried to access a disconnected shared volume.
-121An access path could not be created.
-120Tried to access a file by using a pathname that specifies a non existing directory.
-84There is a hardware problem with the disk (bad installation, incorrect formatting,...).
-64There is a hardware problem with the disk (bad installation, incorrect formatting,...).
-61Read/write permission doesn’t allow writing.
-60Bad master directory block. Your disk is damaged.
-58Error in the external file system.
-57Tried to work with a non-Macintosh disk.
-54Attempt to open locked file for writing.
-53Volume not on line.
-52Internal file manager error (position of file marker is lost).
-51Tried to access a document with an invalid document reference number.
-49Tried to open a file already open with write permission.
-48Tried to rename a file with the name of an already deleted file.
-47Tried to access a file that has been deleted.
-46Volume is locked by an application.
-45File is locked.
-44Volume is locked by a hardware setting.
-43File not found.
-42Too many files open at the same time.
-41Not enough memory to open a new file on the disk.
-40Attempt to position before start of file.
-39Logical end-of-file reached during read operation.
-38Tried to read or write to a file that is not open.
-37Bad filename or volume name.
-36I/O error. There is probably a bad block on the disk.
-35Specified volume doesn’t exist.
-34Disk is full. There is no more room available on the disk.
-33File directory full. You cannot create new files on disk.
